Ken Vendrinksi has finally opened the doors at his new upscale-Italian experience Coda del Pesce on IOP. Monday was their first night, and positive reviews from customers are already pouring in on the Coda Facebook page. Anticipation has been high for this venue. The wide open windows and remodeled interior look like the next best thing to the Mediterranean coast, and Vendrinski's menu sets out to prove the same.
Chef Bob Carter of Carter's Kitchen and Rutledge Cab Co. even called Vendrinski "Charleston's Best Chef" in the comments of a previous Eater post. And last night Charleston cookbook authors The Lee Bros. tweeted a first look from inside the restaurant, mentioning Vedrinski's flounder crudo and extruded pasta. Beach views and gourmet Italian may have never had a better pairing in the Holy City.
