Yes, Charleston's First Chicken Salad Joint is Almost Here

New, 6 comments

As of this fall, Charleston's long-running chicken salad-focused restaurant drought might finally be over. Chicken Salad Chick, an Alabama-based chain that serves 15 different varieties of their namesake ingredient, is opening a branch in the Holy City. While the exact location is still unknown, a rep for the restaurant wrote in an email, "Once the lease is signed and location is confirmed, it'll be approximately 90-120 days until we open."

Onto the food: While the majority of the menu is dominated by poultry options, there is an entire section dedicated to deli sandwiches, like turkey and pimento cheese ("For those who have been dragged here by a chicken salad lover..."). Keeping with the "chick" branding, most of the salads have lady-centric names, like the Classic Carol, Barbie-Q, Luau Lydia, etc. There are also sides, bird by the pound and a soup and sandwich combo.

Founder and vice president of brand development Stacy Brown writes on their website, "Chicken Salad Chick is a place all chicken salad lovers can find something they enjoy." Those who know where its headed, should tip big.
