Earlier today, a potential Ravenel bridge jumper went into the custody of authorities after being offered what some are saying was an Andolini's Pizza (of depressing note: perhaps pepperoni). The Post and Courier reports, "He was apprehended five hours after the situation began and shortly after authorities provided him with a pizza for lunch." A social media shitstorm followed.
Somewhat related: Around 2 a.m. this morning, Andolini's announced the known shutter of its JI location, "It is with mixed emotions that we say good bye to James Island. We have been on Folly Road nearly ten years (if you count the time we were there as Juanita Greenberg's)." They have four other locations in the Lowcountry.
They told Eater the building has been sold, and wrote on Facebook, "A new fun, hip place coming soon." Those in the know should send tips, tips, tips.
