Salad Mayhem Starts Now at Verde in Mount Pleasant

The salad specialists at Verde have expanded over the bridge and, as of today, are serving up kinds of greens in Mount Pleasant. They officially throw open the doors tomorrow, but are hosting a preview lunch right now until 3 p.m.

No word yet on how the options Mount Pleasant will differ from the King Street location, but their Facebook has a menu posted with a "create your own" option and a list of "Verde signature creations," all of which come in wrap or salad form.

Looks like healthy food is outpacing the pig these days, with all-veggie Dellz Uptown opening, the Black Bean revolution and now a growing salad empire. Recently, Charleston food writer Robert Moss asked on his blog "Is Lardcore Over?" At least for now, the greens are everywhere.
