The new vegetarian offshoot of beloved wrap shop Dellz Deli opened earlier this week just north of the Crosstown. While the Spring Street location is known for its to-go lunches, Dellz Uptown feels more like a restaurant than a take-out joint. And unlike the original Dellz, the new locale has tables, waitstaff and a salad bar.
The menu is still in a tentative, soft-opening state, but as of right now, owner Dell Grayson is making nine variations of her signature wraps. Diehard fans of the Spring Street stop will be happy to see the Hummer made the jump to the new spot. There's also a Vegan Snobby Joe.
This menu has vegan baked goods (today there was loquat carrot bread) and a few starters, like a spinach artichoke dip and a trio of hummus. For entrees, there are a variety of bowls, like the Lucky Bowl with black-eye peas, peppers, vegan bacon brown rice and turnip greens. There are also pizzas, including a Hawaiian, with smoked tofu.
The hours are still being worked out and, right now, they're being posted on Facebook.
