Izakaya Ramen, the shuttered REV Foods joint which was once the great Sushi Hiro, has now been empty longer than it was open. Perhaps not for long, as new Lebanese restaurant Leyla is slated to come to life in the vacant King Street property, according to the Post and Courier.
Owners Joseph and Dolly Awkar, an importer of Lebanese foods and a professor of Arabic, respectively, are shooting for a July 1 opening.
A point of intrigue, from the P&C story: "A chef from Los Angeles will be joining the restaurant." If you know tip, tip, tip.
