City Paper's Robert Moss took a look at the brick-and-mortar joint by the Roti Rolls team The Green Door and as he just tweeted, he "found some pretty damn good eats inside." He's impressed with the tilefish ceviche, sambal fried chicken and the burger:
"These days it seems like every new casual restaurant has to make a big deal about their big, fat signature house burger, but the Green Door's GD Burger ($12) is actually worth making a fuss about."
It's not a total hit parade, though, and Moss finds faults with the pimento fritters (filled with "an odd slightly-brownish mild cheese inside along with some inexplicable strips of soft pasta that really don't amount to much"), as well as the fries and tots.
But there's a happy ending. Namely, "I think I'm going to be a big fan of the Green Door. They're marching to the beat of their own drum and creating food that's novel and delicious."
