Charleston is about to get a new bakery, straight from Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Frances Nunez is the owner of Puerto Rico-based The Cupcake Place, and will be expanding her colorful sweets business to the Lowcountry this spring. She wouldn't reveal the location but, according to Craigslist, they're already hiring and are hoping to start selling their confections as early as April.
While the Bayamón/Charleston connection might not be obvious at first, Nunez wrote in an email that she lived in the Holy City back in 2006 and loved it. Details on the location should be sent to the tipline.
