No need to whip out your REV Rewards Card when stepping into The Royal American, as The Post and Courier's Warren Lance Wise reports, the Morrison Drive dive bar separated from Revolutionary Eating Ventures. REV, which also operates Taco Boy, Closed for Business, Poe's Tavern, and Monza, provided the marketing, accounting, and quality control services to the restaurant, but much of that work was actually being handled in-house at The Royal American.
Karalee Nielson, partner in REV Foods and co-owner of The Royal American, doesn't anticipate the feel of the restaurant changing as it becomes independent from the group. "I think people associate our brand independently from each other," she said. While no conceptual changes are planned for the bar, she said they will be adding a brunch and lunch menu for unrelated reasons. "It's our take on what we'd like to eat on the weekend after a big night out," she said. All original owners will stay the same.
