Chef Robert Berry a 'Bad Fit' with Indaco

New, 1 comment

At 2:50 p.m. yesterday, Indaco chef Robert Berry tweeted: "Thanks @IndacoChas restaurant and staff for the blood, sweat and tears we all put into making a great place. You all will be missed!" Chef Berry moved from New York to help start the Italian-inspired restaurant on King, opened in August, and it seemed he was already leaving.

City Paper editor Stephanie Barna tracked down Indaco managing partner Steve Palmer for confirmation that Berry was out. Barna quotes Palmer as saying, "[Berry] was a great chef, but it was a bad fit." It was also revealed that sous chef Michael Perez would replace Berry. Perez sounds more than capable to take the helm, with years of experience in restaurants like Scarpetta in Beverly Hills and Tabla Mediterranean Bistro in Portland.
