Chef Benjamin Harris Leaves Republic Reign

While swanky lounge Republic Reign is known more as a velvet-roped place to boogie than a place to dine, they do garner some attention with their contemporary bar fare. Chef Benjamin Harris, formerly of Poogan's Porch, created the menu and earned a positive review from City Paper writer Angela Hanyak. Eater received a tip Harris may be leaving and set to discover what was going on at the nightclub.

Information was slim, but general manager Evan Powell sent a statement reading, "We're sorry to see Ben leave Republic, as he was key to helping us establish our unique place in Charleston's food and beverage scene. We wish him luck, and look forward to continuing our commitment to the sociable food, top quality beverages and fresh music that make every night special here."
