Vietnamese Menu at XBB; Oysters at Zero George

SPECIAL MENU—Home of the okonomiyaki Xiao Bao Biscuit will host a guest chef on Friday, October 25 (tonight). XBB chef Josh Walker will bring in friend and chef Vinh Nguyen, who specializes in southern Vietnamese comfort cuisine, to man the kitchen for the evening. No tickets are required; the menu will be amended to reflect the Nguyen's background. Co-owner Joey Ryan even promises a few new cocktails for Friday, including a F.O.B., a modified Manhattan utilizing Taketsuru Japanese whiskey, Carpano Antica sweet vermouth and Red Boat bourbon barrel-aged fish sauce in place of bitters. EVENTWIRE—Boutique hotel Zero George and attached bistro Zero George Café & Bar will host an oyster roast on Wednesday, October 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This will be a chance for Charleston residents to explore the grounds of the new inn. EVENTWIRE—North Charleston taquería Básico will celebrate Mexican holiday Day of the Dead with a party on Friday, November 1, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Patrons can participate in sugar skull face painting, tarot card reading and a photo booth.
