There's no shortage of excitement as Sean Brock and Southern barbecue badasses The Fatback Collective prepare to cook at Meatopia, which dubs itself the "Woodstock of Edible Animals," in New York this Saturday. The New York Times called the crew of chefs a "supergroup" that "was was formed to foster fine barbecue while spreading the word about heritage breeds, proper pork-raising and the humane treatment of animals."
Last year Brock and Scott's Bar-B-Que pitmaster Rodney Scott hauled home a knife-laden trophy, capturing the title of "grand masters." This year, they'll be joined by Jim 'N Nick's owner Nick Pihakis and a few others from across Dixie as they grill up a whole hog, cracklins and other piggy products.
