Charleston Scene's Deidre Schipani checked out Lowcountry Bistro, the lower-priced spin-off of 82 Queen, and the review is so-so at best. Like Charleston City Paper, she enjoyed the chicken and waffles and called her server "every restaurateur's dream." But she calls the food out on being "over-gilded," and some dishes are either under- or overcooked. The prices seem to be the main draw, so maybe hit up the 10 best cheap eats in Charleston until the food at Lowcountry Bistro is more consistent. [Charleston Scene]
