Wine Enthusiast Magazine has released their list of the 100 Best Wine Restaurants and three Charleston restaurants are on the list! Included in their round-up are Circa 1886, Charleston Grill and Husk.
Charleston Grill certainly has an impressive wine list. Sommelier Rick Rubel and Assistant Wine director Andrew Marshall have put together a list with over 1,300 items. On their list you can find everything from a Krug, Clos du Mesnil, Blanc de Blancs, Brut, 1998 to a delicious, but affordable Trimbach, Alsace, 2009.
The wine list at Husk has been much discussed. Categorized by terroir and soil type, rather than geographical region, the list is intended to reflect the mission of the restaurant itself. Categories are Slate, Limestone, Clay, Primary Rock and Volcanic.
The list at Circa 1886 is also quite extensive. The restaurant has a 250-bottle list and a range of prices, from the very affordable to the decadent. This wine list is ever-changing and based on the seasons.
