Boroughs Helping Boroughs; XBB Joins the Lunch Scene

EVENT WIRE Chefs in Cannonborough and Elliotborough are banding together for a Hurricane Sandy relief dinner to be held at The Grocery 6:00 p.m. on December 3. Kevin Johnson of The Grocery is spearheading the event, and he'll be joined in the kitchen by Joshua Keeler of Two Boroughs Larder, Robert Stehling of Hominy Grill, Mike Lata of FIG and The Ordinary, John Ondo of Lana and Kevin Vedrinski of Trattoria Lucca. The desserts are being made by the teams at WildFlour Pastry and Sugar Bakeshop. Tickets are $150 per person, and 100 percent of the proceeds are going to relief efforts (even the waitstaff is donating their time). For reservations call 843.302.8825.

LUNCH WIRE Seriously new Asian comfort food place Xiao Bao Biscuit starts serving lunch tomorrow. Their now-regular lunch hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

STAFF SHUFFLES David McCarus will replace Brooks Reitz as the general manager of FIG, now that Reitz will be over at The Ordinary. Before becoming manager at FIG, he was in San Fransisco as the assistant wine director at Heirloom Cafe. Look for possible changes to come in FIG's wine program as well.
