Next Door Closing Its Doors for Good Tonight

Chef Ben Berryhill's latest restaurant Next Door announced on Facebook that they're closing. The post: "Thank you for all of your support. Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight will be our last night of operation. We look forward to continuing to serve you at Red Drum Restaurant." Co-owner Charlie Chance said over the phone that he'd rather not give the reason for the shutter. He kept it vague adding, "We have some things that we're working on over at Red Drum."

Next Door opened last August to solid reviews. Patricia Agnew of Charleston Magazine swooned over it, calling the pasta and pizza options "irresistible." Eric Doksa of City Paper wrote, "The food, in so many ways, shows the passion and soul of a great chef." Chance added that there might be more details next week.
