Husk mover and shaker Sean Brock received a nod from Cooking Light, taking home their 2012 Culinary Preservation Award. Apparently, his seed-saving ways have kept 35 plants from going extinct in the South, and he once again reveals that he's really more of a veggie man. "I never thought I'd be the guy who's known for pig ears. I'd rather be known as the guy who does the most beautiful work with, say, carrots." Brock's obsessiveness is also noted. The sleep-loathing chef told the magazine, "You have to spend every waking hour researching."
