The long-awaited spinoff of the shuttered Hope and Union The Collective opened today, according to City Paper. Some of the H&U staffers are at the new Mount Pleasant location, making lattes and pouring Intelligentsia coffee. The food is a departure from its predecessor, with a much more expansive menu that includes everything from bagels to omelettes. The former Hope and Union building downtown is undergoing a transformation of its own, and will be reopening at some point as Brown's Court Bakery.
